All my memories rush back
I can remember them all
As I walk so slowly
Down the empty hall
I can remember all the times
When I ran down the hall so fast
Just wanting to catch up with you
And I never could get past
And when we'd walk together
Holding hands so tight
So scared of nothing
Our hearts pounding with fright
Or when we'd pass each other
With glaring eyes of hate
We thought we'd never be friends again
But we made up with fate
And I also remember
All the funny jokes we told
How we'd tell deep secrets
That still today I hold
This hall has special meaning
That no one could possibly know
To other it's just a hallway
But I cherish it so
And I still remember when it was just us
Our footsteps so loud and fast
And then it got so quiet
And I realized the hall didn't last
The day I remember best
Was your last day in the hall
When you walked out those doors
I stayed locked inside the walls
"If I ever leave," you said
"Don't ever feel fear
I'm not leaving you at all
Because I'll always be here."
I listened for her footsteps
But she never returned
I had always known life
But death I hadn't learned
My lonely footsteps echo
And the tears begin to fall
I'm still trying to find you
In this empty hall
