Tonight a young woman must look in the mirror
And realize her worst fear

She can't remember when she last smiled
It was so long ago, when she was a child

Right before a bee buzzed by
It stung her and she began to cry

The bee was hate, the bee was mean
It couldn't be heard and couldn't be seen

The girl was so scared and so full of fear
She didn't dare to run when buzzing came near

After the first bee left then more came
The girl thought she was the one to blame

The bees came so quickly and they shot her down
The girl's happy smile turned into a frown

She got so sick of all of her fright
She laid awake crying during the night

The taunting buzz was everywhere
Nobody near her seemed to care

The bees robbed her of her dignity and power
All she could do was scream and cower

They took away her hope and all of her pride
And all of the love for herself inside

She felt all alone all the nights she cried
Then one day she realized part of her died

The part that was hope, the part that was her
All of her memories were one big blur

It was so long ago that the bees had stung
Now she was older and a bell had rung

She opened her eyes and opened her ears
She learned to confront her very worst fears

Although she forgave them it's still no excuse
For all the years she spent suffering from emotional abuse

Tonight you can see all the tears that she cries
From her big, happy brown eyes

Why is she crying now, you ask?
Because she's successfully completed her task

She faces the mirror and after awhile
She takes a deep breath and begins to smile.
