She's like a patchwork quilt
Her fur's as soft as silk
She looks so kind and gentle
When she laps a dish of milk

She purrs when she's happy
And hisses when she's mad
She senses my emotions
Dries my eyes when I'm sad

Her fur is so soft
And also white as snow
Add some black and brown
And she's a calico

She's my number one
She's my kitty cat
She tickles me so much
When her paws go pitter pat

She stays by my side
When I'm so very sick
And her tender loving care
Really does the trick

I've had her since I was a child
And we have grown so close
Of all the other cats in the world
I know I love her the most

To me she isn't stuck up
And would never hurt a soul
And she thanks me greatfully
When I put food in her bowl

When she's by me I can feel her purr
Like she has a motor inside
Sometimes when I'm scared
It's in her I can confide

Sometimes I'll be reading
And she'll curl up in my lap
She puts her paws on my stomach
And takes a little nap

If I'm preparing tuna
And I open up a can
All the sudden she's underfoot
In a short time span

I feel so bad when I leave her
I call her on the phone
And I feel so guilty
When she is left alone

Although sometimes she bites me
And once in awhile she's mad
We always make up
When she sees that I'm so sad

No one else knows how I feel
When she's laying by my side
And when she finally leaves this earth
A part of me will also die
