Silence in the dark
She is alone, keeping everything
To herself.

Now it is the end
Without family or friend
She is suffering

Just wanting to be lifted up
From the dark dreary alleyway
And to be held.

She is alone, she is dying
She is softly crying
In the moonlight

Waiting for a gentil touch
She wants to be held so much
A beauty in confinement
From within herself.

Help me she cries
As her frail body dies

She holds out her hand
To the neatly dressed man
Standing before her.

He gives her a pathetic look of disgust
Like, don't touch me
You're filthy, you'll contaminate me
As he walks away.

Her soul within is burning
As she is yearning
In her last few hours
For the love she never had.

Then from the shadows
Out creeps a kitten
Tiny and frostbitten

Finally! At last!
The woman holds out her hand
As the small kitten sniffs.

Finally the kitten crawls
Within the woman's arms
And straight into her heart

And they both emit a powerful love
That they have both longed for.

The woman takes a deep breath and sighs
And she dies.
The kitten cries.

As morning rises the kitten paws,
Claws at the woman's cold carcass.
The kitten is now the woman

Alone in the alleyway
Longing to find love
And happiness someday.
